So glad you’re here, love!

I’M JESS UPCHURCH KING

Back in the day, I found belonging on the basketball court and church mission trips…
until I didn’t.

I was sitting in my 4th-grade classroom, watching all my friends leave the classroom to participate in a program called ‘Gifted & Talented.’

As they were working on cool projects, I sat alone at my desk, feeling less than and unworthy. That was my earliest memory of not feeling enough.

That was my earliest memory of not feeling enough.

Growing up, I found a sense of belonging on the basketball court and church mission trips. I pursued a career as a P.E. teacher and basketball coach and moved to Uganda, Africa, to teach at an orphanage.

I felt like I was in my element, but I had been grappling with a big secret I’d locked away since I was a teenager…I was gay.

Being immersed in the religious community and hearing sermon after sermon condemning homosexuality, I suddenly felt that I did not belong and was not enough. The feeling of not-enoughness weighed heavily on me as in every aspect of my life. After more than a decade of intentional self-discovery, personal development, healing, and a whole lot of bravery, I know and believe in exactly who I am. And because of that, I am living the life of my dreams.

You discover who you are

meant to be as soon as you

lean into who you are.

I’m probably sipping iced coffee and creating ways where a woman can confidently become all she’s meant to be and more.

currently…

You wanna know what truly lights me up? Seeing an empowered woman believing in the impact she can make. A woman’s impact creates a massive ripple effect, and limiting beliefs only slows down the goodness that the world needs. If I can be your hype girl by letting you in on the secret you’ve got all it takes within you to live the life of your dreams, then my intention is done.

A FEW THINGS I SHOW UP AS:

Chief Visionary

A title I had to overcome a lot of self-doubts and harness my passion for believing in people.

“Auntie Jessica” to my family and friends in Uganda. This title is something I wear proudly because of the trust and love built over the years.

Auntie Jessica

Sweet Jess

My Wife started calling me this when we first started dating seven years ago. Proudly sign my love letters by this name.

Jess

Family and friends mean a lot to me, and I am grateful to be full, authentic, and vulnerable ‘Jess.’

Coach & Mentor

I spent over a decade being weighed down by the feeling of not-enoughness. I’m on a mission to embolden women to believe in who they are a lot quicker than it took me.

Aunt Jessa

A title that immediately brought me to tears, especially when my niece said it for the first time.
